I stopped caring about voting after 1999 Bush v Gore, not because of a “stolen” or crooked election/Supreme Court, but because Gore gave it up so easily. There was clearly a Goliath, Gore had neither conviction or ability to fight. I also felt dumb. I had switched from Green to Dem, for the primaries? The Bush arguement in Bush v Gore, that to recount (contested) ballots was a violation of voters’ right to a fair election as the people who were able to contest their votes or have it looked at were receiving preferential treatment; thereby making the election unfair … is/was so bizarre and did not hide that they were refusing/scared to even look at evidence. It was a Supreme Court decision that put us and keeps us in a land of ahistorical and unconstitutional decision making and wacky logic. Twisting law to mean what you want it to mean, especially when they are 2 opposing principles, is the first sign of an illegitimate, kangaroo court. I knew Katanje was too late, it’s called the “Black promise”.
More recently, in 2023, the court entertained a case in which a plantiff wanted the court to rule if it was okay if she discriminated against gay people in a business she did not have. For some reason she had not been clear and was questioning/relitigating if discriminating against sexual identity constitutional, because if it is not, she’s unable to start her business. You’ve heard it before, the plea, about staying true “to her faith” requiring hate. Her inability to express her Christian hate was the thing stopping her from opening up a business. It did not stop her from making her way through the judicial system, though. So pressing a hypothetical, she had to get the Supreme courts okay to discriminate in her case, 303 Creative LLC v. Elenis, first. Lorie Smith, the plaintiff, is not doing wedding planning currently. NBC via Reuters report as of October 2024,”Colorado to pay web designer’s legal fees after losing LGBTQ anti-bias law case”, she is requesting 1.5 million dollars from the US government as reimbursement for legal fees spent to get her okay to discriminate, which is down from the 2 million, she was originally requesting. You can also look at this POS, fake Christian and her silly story on Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), a right wing legal group, likely her legal defense team. According to Wikipedia, the ADF, “… is most known for its stance on outlawing abortion, opposing same-sex marriage and other LGBTQ rights, transgender rights, and anti-discrimination laws. ADF is headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, with branch offices in several locations including Washington, D.C., and New York. Its international subsidiary, Alliance Defending Freedom International, with headquarters in Vienna, Austria,operates in over 100 countries.” The lies upon lies wrapped in lies is astounding. Leaves me speechless, really. Defending Freedom means outlawed gays from society. So gross.
But back to what happened after the Bush v Gore election, the 2000 WTO riots in Seattle. It showed people caring more about “the land,” as in space as opposed to “the people.” Seems more of a hearty helping of settlers’ panic with a side of environmentalism. They don’t want bad land. I think it’s funny they are attacking their own European art, in their European museums. The art of when Imperialists really had a vast landscape to pillage, plunder and own; and conquer, like little God’s, like the Bible’s Adam. But those greedy imperialist left their imperialist children no land to pillage and they are/were MAD!
This is them testing boundaries some more in 2023 and getting off on a plea deal because we continue to be too marginalized, scattered and fractured. Also, the president has requested 13 expedited Supreme Court hearings in his first 100 days, that is more than one request every 2 weeks. No president has ever been so forward in trying to change the constitution and no court has ever been so willing to let him.
